Coconut Ginger Latte with Turmeric

Makes 5-6 Lattes

Ginger, turmeric, and citrus are anti-inflammatory foods that are good for Gut Health! Try this as a bedtime treat. Try a  pinch of cayenne (also anti-inflammatory) for a fun touch of heat!

 Spice Base

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/4 cup peeled and grated fresh ginger

1/4 cup ground turmeric

3 tablespoons honey

1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper

 For each latte:

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 cup unsweetened canned coconut milk

2 tablespoons spice base (above)

 

To make the Spice Base:

Whisk all the ingredients for the base together in a small bowl. Place in an airtight jar and keep refrigerated for up to 10 days.

 

To make a Latte:

Heat the almond milk and the coconut milk over medium high heat in a small pan. Place 2 tablespoons of the spice base into a mug. While whisking, slowly pour in the hot milk. Whisk until smooth. Enjoy!
